Designing a custom gift or award is quite a lot of fun, actually. ... I think it's fun anyway.
The problem is explaining how it all works sounds complicated. We had an order recently that was fairly straightforward so I'm going to walk through it with you.
The Starting Point.
A local fire department has reorganized. One of the lieutenants wanted insulated tumblers for his newly-assigned truck crew.
The lieutenent had an idea of what he wanted. He sketched things out on paper which gave us a solid place to start.
When I finish the design, I send you a proof of the work. This is your chance to make any changes and to CHECK THE SPELLING.
I really want you to check the spelling.
Once I get your OK, I get to engraving.
This is my favorite part. I won't deny, I like a little validation for our work. And look at that face. Totally makes my day.
The best part is that you are going to see the exact same kind of look when you give the gift. That is a serious level of Awesome.
Now every morning, the Dad is going to put his coffee in his custom, Catkiller tumbler and go out to the shop. And every time he takes a sip, he'll know that his service -- to his country and to his family -- is remembered.
That made my day. Certainly made my year.
(Bonus Day Making: the Dad sent his son back to us with an awesome book about the 220th RAC. I'm looking forward to digging into it!)
